Jessica Harrell has worked in the field of education as a teacher, director of curriculum and instruction, founding principal, and district academic director. As the Director, Science at UnboundEd, Jess is dedicated to changing the narrative around science education to ensure that teachers, schools, and districts provide all students with opportunities to learn, do and think about science in relevant and meaningful ways. Her areas of interest and passion involve the intersection of science and math with culturally relevant, responsive and sustaining practices, special education, social-emotional learning, and literacy. Jess has also worked extensively with curricular development, new teacher support, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Fairfield University, an M.S. in Secondary Education from Northwestern University, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Montclair State University. She and her husband live in New Jersey with their two children.
