Amber Woods

Program Design Specialist

Amber Woods is a former elementary school classroom teacher and district-level resource teacher with Baltimore County Public Schools in Maryland. During her time in the classroom, she witnessed how impactful grade-level and engaging science instruction was on her students of all ages. These experiences with students led to Amber dedicating her time to developing and implementing quality standards-based curricula for all students K-5 in her role as a district-level resource teacher. As Program Design Specialist, Amber works to support teachers, school leaders, and district leaders in the implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards. Her work supports future scientists in grades K-12. She is passionate about providing opportunities for all students to see themselves as scientists. She is committed to influencing the systems and structures to support educators in providing grade-level, engaging, affirming, and meaningful science instruction.
