Doug “Dr. Luff” Luffborough, III, PhD, is a leadership consultant, motivational speaker, educator, and author whose powerful life story embodies resilience and change. Raised in a single-parent household and experiencing homelessness during high school, he went on to become a first-generation college graduate. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business & human resources management from Northeastern University, a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a PhD in Leadership Studies & Educational Consulting from the University of San Diego.
For more than two decades, Dr. Luff has worked with organizations as a social entrepreneur, life coach, and advocate for youth and family empowerment. He has also served as a California school board trustee, an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University, and a leader in advancing trauma-resilient educational communities. He and his wife live in Chula Vista, California, with their four children.
