Marisa is passionate about empowering students to experience the joy and beauty of math through expanded access to high-quality mathematics instruction. Marisa previously worked at the national education nonprofit EdReports where she facilitated curriculum adoption through partnerships with states, districts, and nonprofit organizations across the country to ensure students have access to high-quality instructional materials. She also served as the Mathematics Instructional Coordinator for the Montana Office of Public Instruction and as a member of the Montana Math Standards Writing and Review Committee and the Early Numeracy Advisory Council. Marisa’s roots are in the classroom, where she served as a high school and middle school math teacher and instructional coach in districts across the country. Marisa holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics and statistics from Barnard College and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Boston University. She lives in Helena, MT, with her husband and three children.
