Nolan Highbaugh

General Counsel

As General Counsel, Nolan provides legal advice focused on empowering business leaders, reducing friction, accelerating sales, and embracing calculated risk-taking. Before joining UnboundEd, Nolan led the legal functions for BookNook (a Series B startup online tutoring company) and the KIPP Foundation. During his time with KIPP, Nolan was a key leader in expanding the KIPP school network from eight to 270 schools in 18 years, representing an increase in students served from approximately 1,300 to 113,000 in twenty states and the District of Columbia.

Before entering law school, Nolan was a Budget and Policy Analyst for the Chief Administrative Office of Los Angeles County and the Office of Mayor Willie L. Brown Jr. in the City and County of San Francisco. Nolan attended U.C. Berkeley (Go Bears!), earning a bachelor’s degree in international political economy and a Master of Public Policy. He earned his JD from Stanford Law School and is a California State Bar Association member. Nolan’s all-time favorite movie is The Godfather Part II.
