Sonjhia Lowery is a 29-year educator, kid champion and integral agent of change, committed to providing all youth with equitable access to high quality education and health care. As an Equity leadership strategist and experienced professional learning facilitator, Sonjhia supports leaders, organizations and systems with fostering transformational, impactful change in an effort to create a world where humanity thrives without boundaries.
Ms. Lowery demonstrates content expertise in areas of leadership related to continuous improvement, equity policy development, organizational development and growing systems leaders. An experienced Teacher, Principal and Superintendent of Schools, Sonjhia currently leads Just Score Inc., where she serves as an executive leadership strategist and consultant designing, leading and facilitating professional development focused on supporting improved equity leadership, adult learning, cultural proficiency and systems change. As the CEO/founder, she focuses on supporting leaders in the pursuit of equity and execution of vision.
Sonjhia’s leadership has been recognized at the local, regional, and state levels. She was named the 2018 Administrator of the Year – Central Office by the Association of California School Administrators Region 3. In 2019, she received the Outstanding Leadership in Education Award by the California Association of African American School Administrators.
Ms. Lowery has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the California State University, Hayward, and a master’s degree in Education from the University of La Verne. She grew up in Oakland, California and is married to her husband Josh. They have two daughters, the oldest Nia, is a graduate student at the University of Washington and Nyah is a Freshman at the University of Pacific.
