About the Pathway

The UnboundEd Planning Process™ (UPP®) pathway gives everyone in your school the essential tools to get the job done in every lesson, every day. In a two-day Summit, participants learn a set of essential strategies to improve student achievement on a daily basis.

What to Expect
By the end of two days, participants will be able to:
- Identify grade-level activities in a lesson and how to keep them front and center while teaching
- Design lessons in which students do most of the thinking, talking, reading, and writing
- Scaffold activities so all students can engage in grade-level work
- Use students’ funds of knowledge to improve teaching and learning
- Use step-by-step instructional routines they can apply in observations and coaching

- Describe the purpose and basic types of scaffolds.
- Create scaffolds that allow access to grade-level lesson activities.
- Define funds of knowledge and their role in teaching.
- Plan a way to use student funds of knowledge in a lesson.
- Develop goals to implement new learning in everyday practice.
