Dr. Steven Shadel

Dr. Steven Shadel, Senior National Content Specialist at Great Minds, has 20 years of experience in education as a math teacher, school leader, and district leader. With a doctorate in educational leadership, he champions the potential of public schools. He has led major initiatives in math instruction, including the Great Minds Schools project and K–12 STEM development in Skokie, IL. Steven serves on the NCSM board and formerly chaired ICTM. A lifelong Chicagoan, he enjoys running and playing show tunes with his family. His work centers on empowering students with the language and thinking of mathematicians.
