Dr. Muzical Clark Waite has over twenty years of experience in English language arts education, committed to facilitating students’ ability and motivation to read. As Literacy Projects Manager at UnboundEd, Muzical supports the development and management of the ALPIC (Adolescent Literacy Planning and Implementation Collaborative) project. Prior to joining UnboundEd, Dr. Waite taught middle and high school English. She also served as a curriculum facilitator, literacy specialist, and ELA/literacy program advisor at the state level for the Arkansas Department of Education. Her career has focused on supporting adolescent growth, development, and achievement through dynamic learning experiences around rich, diverse texts.Muzical holds a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina. Her doctoral research centered on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in the English classroom. She earned a master’s degree in Secondary English education from the University of Arkansas, and a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from the University of Arkansas. A native of the Ozarks, Muzical currently resides with her family in the Greensboro, North Carolina area.
