Shveta brings two decades of literacy education and instructional leadership experience to her role as Program Design Director at UnboundEd, where she supports districts with developing the strong systems and change management skills needed to ensure HQIM implementation leads to grade-level, engaging, affirming, meaningful learning experiences for students.
Her career spans teaching High School English in NYC public schools, lecturing at universities across Asia, and serving as an ELA instructional leader partnering with districts across the country to expand access to meaningful study of high-quality texts.
A recognized expert in visual literacy, Shveta authored Hacking Graphic Novels and facilitates national courses for the Bureau of Education and Research. She has also worked with nearly a dozen HQIM publishers as a writer, DEI editor, and instructional designer.
Shveta holds a BA from UC Berkeley, an MA in Modern Literature from the University of London, and an MS in Teaching as a New York City Teaching Fellow. As a professional actor, she views storytelling as deeply connected to her mission: equipping educators with the mindsets and tools needed to disrupt inequities in schools. Raised in California, she now calls Portland, Oregon home.
