The GLEAM Accelerator is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered planning tool that helps educators review and strengthen existing lessons using UnboundEd’s framework for grade-level, engaging, affirming, and meaningful — GLEAM — instruction while keeping educators’ professional judgment firmly in the driver’s seat.
The tool doesn’t just evaluate a lesson — it explains the reasoning behind each evaluation, strengthening educators’ ability to recognize and apply GLEAM Instruction with or without the tool.
Build on the Materials Educators Already Use
High-quality instructional materials (HQIM) provide an essential foundation, but educators still make thoughtful decisions about how lessons respond to their students, instructional goals, and local context.
Generic AI tools are not designed around the instructional frameworks, standards, and materials educators already use. The GLEAM Accelerator brings those elements together to provide grounded, actionable guidance without replacing educators’ expertise or professional judgment.
How does the GLEAM Accelerator work?
1. Start with an existing lesson.
Educators upload an existing lesson plan for a comprehensive evaluation of the lesson based on the GLEAM Instruction framework.
2. Review it through a GLEAM lens.
The tool identifies existing strengths and opportunities to strengthen GLEAM Instruction. It explains each evaluation so educators can understand the reasoning behind the result.
3. Select instructional priorities.
Educators choose the GLEAM dimensions that should guide the review based on their students, materials, and instructional goals.
4. Evaluate suggested changes
Recommendations appear in direct connection to the lesson. Educators can compare versions and accept, reject, edit, or regenerate individual suggestions.
The tool recommends. Educators decide.

The GLEAM Accelerator does more than identify what educators could improve. It shows them why a lesson received each evaluation and how specific changes could strengthen it.

Explore the GLEAM Accelerator Through a Pilot
The GLEAM Accelerator is in an early pilot stage. We’re inviting educators and school systems to test it in authentic planning and instructional contexts.
Pilot participants will explore how the tool fits into existing planning routines, use its recommendations with real lessons, and share feedback about what works, what needs improvement, and what educators need next.

For Educators
Use the Accelerator in your lesson-planning routine, apply selected recommendations in the classroom, and share feedback with UnboundEd.
The educator pilot includes:
- An onboarding session and ongoing support from UnboundEd
- Weekly use of the tool to review and strengthen one to two existing lessons
- Brief reflections on the tool’s recommendations and classroom application
- A mid-pilot check-in, final survey, and debrief
- Free access to the GLEAM Accelerator through March 2027
The pilot will take approximately six to seven weeks, with active testing requiring about 30–45 minutes per week in addition to regular planning. A stipend is available to educators who complete the pilot activities and meet the feedback requirements.
For Districts & School Systems
Districts and school systems can participate as strategic co-design partners by testing the GLEAM Accelerator with a select group of educators and exploring how it could support lesson planning, instructional materials, coaching, and professional learning.
The district and school system pilot includes:
- Onboarding and ongoing product support from UnboundEd
- Use of the tool during weekly lesson planning
- Collaborative feedback sessions, surveys, and focus groups
- Examination of implementation and educator experience
- Sharing aggregated, non-personally identifiable usage data to inform learning and product development
The pilot will run for approximately three months, moving from goal-setting and onboarding through implementation, feedback, and synthesis.
